General examinations and check-ups for cats and dogs

Symptom-focused physical examinations and regular check-ups aimed at early detection, to protect your pet’s quality of life.

About this service

A general examination is the first and most important step in assessing your pet’s health. Our vets assess your pet’s overall condition, check the skin, coat, ears and eyes, and listen to the heart and lungs to understand the cause of the current complaint.

If further tests are needed after the examination, blood tests and digital X-rays are carried out at our clinic; samples are not sent to an outside lab and results are usually reviewed within 15–30 minutes. This speeds up the diagnostic process considerably.

For kittens and puppies, the first examination is important for starting the vaccination and parasite program at the right time. For senior (geriatric) pets, regular check-ups help detect age-related changes early. At every step, we explain what we are doing and why, in clear and simple terms.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an appointment for an examination?

We recommend calling us or sending a WhatsApp message to book before coming in for an examination or vaccination; that way our vet can be prepared and your waiting time is shorter. For neutering and other surgery, you need to book at least one day in advance.

Which animals do you treat?

Our services are primarily for cats and dogs. For other species, please call us before coming in.

Will my pet be stressed during the examination or a hospital stay?

Our clinic is designed to keep stress to a minimum. Before the examination you can spend time with your dog in our lawn garden. Instead of dark cages, our inpatient and observation area offers a calm, daylit space overlooking the garden.

How long do blood test results take?

Complete blood counts are run on our Mindray BC-30 Vet and biochemistry tests on our Mindray vetXpert, in-house; samples are not sent to an outside lab. Results are usually reviewed by our vets and explained to you within 15–30 minutes.
